General results of foreign trade of the Kursk region for 9 months of 2021
According to the customs statistics of the Central Customs Administration, the foreign trade turnover of the Kursk region for 9 months of 2021 amounted to 1238.1 million US dollars and increased by 28.6% compared to the same indicator in 2020.
Export supplies of the Kursk region in the total volume of foreign trade turnover account for 70.8% or 876.3 million US dollars (149.0% compared to the same indicator in 2020); import supplies amount to 29.2% or 361.8 million US dollars (96.5% compared to the same indicator in 2020).
The balance of foreign trade turnover for the first 9 months of 2021 was positive and amounted to 514.5 million US dollars. Exports of goods from the Kursk region exceed imports by 2.4 times in value.
During January — September 2021, enterprises and organizations registered in the Kursk region traded with 97 countries of the world.
The main trading partners of the Kursk region in January-September 2021 were: France – 10.8% of the total turnover of the Kursk region (in January-September 2020 – 1.9%), Slovakia – 10.1% (4.0%), Ukraine – 8.8% (10.1%), Germany – 7.7% (2.3%), Belarus – 6.5% (7.2%), China – 5.8% (24.8%), Turkey – 4.9% (2.2%), Poland – 4.4% (2.1%), Latvia – 4.0% (2.3%), United Kingdom – 3.8% (1.1%).
The nomenclature of export supplies of the Kursk region consists of: iron ores and concentrates (58.2% of total exports), foodstuffs and raw materials (21.3%), chemical industry products, rubber (9.8%), textiles, textile products and footwear (4.6%), metals and products thereof (2.8%), engineering products (2.1%), other goods (1.2%).
Economic entities of the region supplied goods to the CIS countries in the amount of 154.9 million US dollars. The predominant share in the volume of exports to the CIS countries is occupied by supplies to Ukraine – 32.7% of the total exports of the Kursk region to the CIS countries; Belarus – 30.0%; Kazakhstan – 17.8%.
The volume of exports to non-CIS countries for 9 months of 2021 amounted to 421.4 million US dollars, including to France – 17.9% of the total exports of the Kursk region to non-CIS countries; Slovakia – 17.3%; Germany – 98.8%; Turkey – 7.5%; Latvia – 6.8%.
The leading exporters are: JSC “Mikhailovsky GOK named after A.V. Varichev”, JSC “KONTI-RUS”, LLC “Kursk Meat Processing Plant”, LLC “Kurskkhimvolokno”, JSC “Kurskrezinotekhnika”, Kursk branch of LLC “Biaxplen”, LLC NPO “Composite”, JSC “Kursk Factory of technical fabrics”, LLC “Pharos”, JSC “Geomash”, JSC “Kursk Electrical Plant”, JSC “Pharmstandard-Lexredstva”, LLC ” Korenevsky plant of low-voltage equipment”, GOTEK group of enterprises.
Imports include: machine-building products (38.7% of total imports), chemical industry products, rubber (26.1%), foodstuffs and raw materials (10.9%), metals and products made from them (8.2%), textiles and textile products and footwear (6.3%), wood and pulp and paper products (4.7%), as well as other goods (5.1%).
For 9 months of 2021, goods were delivered to the Kursk region from the CIS countries in the amount of 119.8 million US dollars. The predominant share in the volume of imports of the Kursk region from the CIS countries is occupied by supplies from Ukraine – 48.6% and the Republic of Belarus – 29.5%.
The volume of imports from non-CIS countries amounted to 242.0 million US dollars. The leaders in terms of supplies to the Kursk region from non-CIS countries are: China – 17.8% of the total imports to the Kursk region from non-CIS countries, Poland – 14.2%, Germany – 13.1%, Ireland – 12.5%, Italy – 11.3%.
